PPF film is the most effective protection for your vehicle

Transparent film for cars has been used for many years. Unfortunately, it came with certain drawbacks. It was often immediately obvious that the car had been wrapped. The hue and gloss of the paintwork changed, devaluing the appearance of the vehicle. It frequently peeled and tore. That is now a thing of the past. Today we use what looks the same at first glance but is a far more advanced form of body protection - PPF wrap - Paint Protection Film. This polyurethane film is currently the most effective paint protection available.

You will not even notice the PPF film on your car, yet it protects your pride and joy against flying stones, insects, and more. But that is not all.

Hydrophobic effect of PPF film

The protective properties of PPF film do not stop there. One of its most interesting characteristics is the hydrophobic effect. This property ensures that water does not stay on the surface of the film but instead beads up and rolls off, similar to ceramic paint protection. As a result, the car is less prone to water spots and is easier to clean, since dirt does not adhere to the surface as easily.

The lifetime of PPF film is up to 10 years. Equally interesting is the fact that this polyurethane material can "self-heal". Thanks to heat, small scratches (swirl marks) on the film close up on their own. You no longer need to worry about seeing those ugly polishing circles from brush car washes when the car is in the sun.

Matte or gloss PPF film

Two types of film are available - matte or gloss. All painted parts of the vehicle can be wrapped, including lights and even carbon exterior or interior accessories. The most common application is on the front of the vehicle - bumper, bonnet, lights, and usually the roof with the wings as well.

It is also recommended to wrap the area behind the wheels because of flying debris from the tyres, as well as the boot loading edge. Wrapping the doors is also a great choice - they will certainly thank you when parking in public car parks. So yes, it is not unusual for entire cars to be wrapped from the sills to the roof. If the film is applied to only certain parts of the vehicle, ceramic protection or wax is usually applied to the remaining parts.

PPF films can "self-heal"

PPF films provide the vehicle with effective protection against external hazards. They protect the car's paint against scratching - for example from flying gravel and stones - as well as from rougher brushes and chemicals in car washes. They also offer protection against insects and various other types of mechanical damage. It is particularly important to highlight the so-called "self-healing" capability of PPF films. Under the influence of heat, the film returns to its original state after minor damage. It all comes down to advanced technology and the polyurethane material used in the manufacture of PPF films.

Light scratches or abrasions seal themselves almost immediately when exposed to sunlight and the resulting heating of the polyurethane. Moreover, thanks to its exceptionally high strength, it is practically impossible to damage PPF film - not even with keys or metal or sharp objects, such as those found on clothing. Thanks to PPF film you can be sure that your car retains a perfectly smooth and glossy surface.

Additionally, PPF films are hydrophobic - meaning the film repels water and liquids that could damage the surface of the vehicle. You certainly do not need to worry about any change in the hue of the original paintwork either. PPF film absorbs UV radiation, which means the paint colour is preserved. Trust a quality car film from DCB.
